Rita Ora
Rita Sahatciu Ora is a British actor, singer, and songwriter. In February 2012, she featured in DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now" single. It reached number one in the UK. Her debut studio album, Ora, released in August 2012, debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. It included two UK top-ten singles "R.I.P." "How We Do (Party)," and "R.I.P." Ora was the artist who had the most top-ranked singles on the UK Singles Chart 2012, with three singles hitting #1. Ora's second studio album Phoenix, was released in November of 2018. The top ten UK hit track "Your Song", and subsequent singles "Anywhere" (and "Let You Love Me") made it to the top five. Ora was the first British solo female artist to be in the top 10 in the United Kingdom with "Let You Love Me". Ora was born to Albanian parents in Pristina in SFR Yugoslavia. Vera her mother (nee Bajraktari), works as psychiatrist. Her father, Besnik Sahatciu is a pub owner who has also studied economics. Ora has an older brother, Don, and an older sister, Elena. Rita Sahatciu was her name at the time she was born. Her surname derives from the Turkish word saatci which translates to "watchmaker" however, her parents added Ora (which in Albanian means "time") to the surname of their family. The family of her parents left Kosovo due to political reasons, because of the persecution of Albanians that was triggered by the break-up of Yugoslavia.They relocated to London, England in 1991 at the age of a baby. She was raised in Notting Hill in West London. She attended a performing arts school, Sylvia Young Theatre School.
